I chose Performing Arts as I never get a thrill like I get when I’m on the stage. It’s a way to express myself in a different way. I started when I was two years old and it has always been my dream to perform. I’m now on my second year of the programme. I’ve been involved in various performances at MidKent College. When I first joined we did a panto called the Wizard of Oz and I was a first year so was munchkin. In that we did various singing acting and dancing scenes and then we moved onto the Variety Show which was a mash up of dance, singing and acting. I choreographed my own piece which I was lucky enough to have in the show. In the panto we did Cinderella and I was the ballerina which was quite a big role, I had to go on a platform to spin and sing and dance. Although I prefer dancing I am trying to push my singing to help me become multitalented.
One day I want to become a dance teacher but to get there I would love to go to all different colleges around the world. My dream college is Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. I came to MidKent College as I feel like at sixth form you’re quite pressured to be want they want whereas in College you can be yourself and I can express myself with dancing and acting. I live quite close and get the train which is not a bad journey. My family were very supportive of me coming to College as they love seeing me performing and seeing me on stage as it makes me so happy. The tutors are so supportive especially Hannah who never lets you drop out she helps and pushes you through everything.
