What facilities and trips are available?
Test your skills by getting involved in frontline events and working in Bluewater. You'll see behind the scenes at British Airways, Virgin Airlines and Heathrow. Students have also undertaken training in lifesaving, how to cope in a hostage situation and first aid.
What have your past students gone on to do?
Travel and Tourism students have headed all over the world gaining employment with huge airlines like British Airways and EasyJet. Others have found themselves working in travel agencies, hotels and events.
What can I do afterwards? You'll have the opportunity to become a flight attendant, travel consultant or tour operator. Have you thought about becoming a resort representative, event manager or hotel manager?
Traditionally you may have studied a Travel & Tourism course, where you would only study the qualification, such as customer service, emergency procedures and marketing. A Travel & Tourism study programme is so much more than a Travel & Tourism course!
This change to study programmes is due to national feedback from employers saying young people need to have more than just a “qualification”; they need to have the skills to work in their chosen industry. A study programme encompasses the subject qualification, English and maths skills as well as work experience and personal development skills. You can read more about study programmes here.
