Higher Education and Adults - Statement of Intent
September 2020 – COVID 19 Update
We are looking forward to welcoming our new and returning students to the college and our Higher Education department from September 2020.
We recognise that the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to have an impact on how we all live and work. It is likely that we will have to adapt how we deliver our Higher Education qualifications in response to the changes in government requirements.
Reviewing current government requirements, it is likely that from September 2020 our Higher Education qualifications will be delivered in a blended learning form, with students attending online lectures. For those students that might have to attend the college to undertake practical/workshop based activities as part of their qualification modules, then this will be done in a controlled way to manage student numbers on site, ensuring that the health, safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our top priority.
We know our UCM Maidstone campus is an important part of the student experience, and we look forward to welcoming you all on to campus as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, as we transition to new ways of working, we promise you that as a member of the college you will be part of a supportive community and you will receive an education of the highest possible standard during these unprecedented and challenging times.
More information and guidance will be provided in due course. This will be when further updates are given from Public Health England, the Department for Education and Universities U.K. In the meantime we hope you remain safe and well, and we look forward to meeting you in the autumn be it in person or virtually/online.
