The Details

This course is aimed at those employed/volunteering in a school that have limited experience of supporting teaching and learning within a classroom environment. The course will help students gain underpinning knowledge of the organisational procedures followed within a school.

Other Important Info

  • You must have a placement in a school before the course begins. This must be classroom based for at least six hours a week on an employed or voluntary basis
  • You are required to obtain a DBS (CRB) check
  • Students will need to be directly observed by their tutor/ assessor within their work placement

    Future Prospects

    Successful students will be able to progress onto the Diploma in Supporting Teaching Learning in Schools and/or Foundation Degree in Childhood Studies.

    Entry Requirements

    All applicants will be interviewed by a course tutor and must have recent classroom experience. Applicants will need a school placement and a letter of support from the school.
