The full Diploma in Education and Training (DET) comprises of six modules (three at level 4, and three at level 5 or level 6 for those choosing the ProfGCE route).
The programme was previously known as Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) and includes the content of previous awards PTLLS and CTLLS.

Introduction to Learning and Teaching
Planning and Assessing for Learning and Behaviour Management
Theory in Professional Practice
Professional Development
Curriculum Studies

Applicants who already hold a first degree have the opportunity to study at level 6 in the second year to obtain a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education and Training
On successful completion of the Diploma/ProfGCE you can apply for Qualified Teacher, Learning and Skills (QTLS) status through the Education and Training Foundation (ETF)
There is also an option to study a Specialist Pathway in maths, English, English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) or Teaching Disabled Learners. For this pathway modules 1 and 5 would be in a bespoke group and taught externally.
Future Prospects
Successful completion of the course will enable you to progress onto the BA (Hons) degree in Education and Professional Training.
Entry Requirements
You will need to be able to access 50 solo teaching hours for groups of four or more students per year
You will also require a level 3 qualification in your area of specialism and a qualification in English and maths.
