The Details

Considering a career in sports coaching or teaching but lack the necessary qualifications and experience to help you get there? Look no further.

This course will help you gain a running start towards employment in the sport, fitness and leisure industries through a combination of practical (e.g. fitness testing, coaching and leadership) and theoretical (e.g. anatomy, sports nutrition, psychology) units.

  • You will learn through a variety of activities including classroom-based lessons and practical sessions
  • All MidKent College students will continue studying English and maths until they are 19, or until they have achieved a Grade C/4. Your study programme will incorporate a Work Placement of up to 350 hours in a role relevant to your study. All students will have access to a Personal Tutor to support their personal and professional development.

    Future Prospects

    Successful completion of the course and its pathways could lead to employment in the fitness industry, coaching or any other sports related environment. You will also have the opportunity to continue your studies at the College or at university.

    Entry Requirements

    Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English and maths at grade C/4 or above.
