The Details

The level 3 course is aimed at plumbing and heating engineers/operators in supervising roles at an advanced level, with work experience one of the entry requirements.

You will further develop the skills required for a successful career in the BSE (building services engineering) industry, including how to install complex hot and cold water systems, service heating and electrical systems, understand complex sanitation and drainage systems and lots more.

Other Important Info

  • You will spend slightly more time in the classroom than in the workshop, learning about complex BSE installations including planning, commissioning and sign-off
  • Final assessment is made through an online end test and practical evidence portfolio. Your progress will also be continuously monitored through assignments, activity reports and phase tests
  • This is a study programme which includes English, maths and work experience in addition to your main programme

    Future Prospects

    Successful completion of the course will significantly improve your chances of a job in the BSE industry. Options include an apprenticeship or employment as a self-employed installer or service engineer.

    Level 2 Technical Certificate in Plumbing Studies. English and Maths minimum grade 4 or equivalent
