Want to work in the events industry or own/manage your own successful hospitality business? Then this is the course for you. The Developing Manager
The HND in Event Management will enable you to learn the basic tools you will require including finance, licensing law, event management, or food and beverage management depending on your chosen career pathway.
You will cover 16 modules over the two years.
Modules can include:
The Contemporary Hospitality Industry
Food and Beverage Operations Management
Finance in the Hospitality Industry
On-licensed Trade Management
Room Service Division
Hospitality Contract and Event Management
Other Important Info Learning will be delivered through tutorials, visits and work experience
Assessment will take place through scenario-based assignments including presentations, group discussions and written tasks
You will be required to attend additional work experience to support your learning
When applying for UCAS you will need the following codes for your application: UCAS code N800 and MidKent College's institution code M87.
Successful completion of the course can lead to employment at junior management level in the events, hospitality or travel industry, or further study at university.
You will need one of the following: 48 UCAS points (under the new tariff)
A National Diploma/ Certificate in a relevant discipline (minimum Merit)
A Level 3 Extended Diploma/Diploma in a relevant discipline (minimum Merit)
An Access to Higher Education Diploma
An NVQ level 3 industry related qualification.
You will also need to have five GCSEs at grade C/level 4 or above.
Mature candidates who do not meet the above criteria may still be admitted to the course subject to an interview with the programme director.
