The Details

Equip yourself with the tools for success by enrolling on this introductory course in engineering.

At level 1 you will learn basic skills in a wide variety of areas including welding, bench fitting, hand tools, effective communication, and health and safety within the engineering sector.

You will also study towards the Certificate in Engineering in addition to the PEO programme.

Other Important Info

  • This is a mostly hands-on course with practical sessions taking place in our fully-equipped workshops, but there will also be some classroom-based theory lessons
  • Assessments will consist of practical observations and written log books, video and photographic evidence, and professional discussions
  • This is a study programme which includes English, maths and work experience in addition to your main programme

    Future Prospects

    Successful completion of the course could lead to the related PEO level 2 programme or the level 2 Diploma in Electronic/Electrical Engineering. Some students are also taken on by employers as engineering apprentices.

    Entry Requirements

    A minimum of four GCSEs at grade 2/F or above, including English or maths.
