The Foundation Degree in Engineering is a unique course designed to meet the demands of the 21st century and address the shortfall of trained engineers. Engineering science
Graduates will ideally be in a position to make a valuable contribution to the industry upon successful completion of the programme, having developed the analytical, research and design skills essential in today's marketplace.
You will study a total of 16 modules- six mandatory and 10 optional, depending on your individual needs and interests.

ASIC design techniques
VHDL/VLSI development tools for PLDs
Computer systems networking
Instrumentation and test methods
Utilisation of electrical energy

Other Important Info Typical lessons will involve research-based activities, individual and group projects, practical applications and seminar presentations
Assessment is through a combination of research and design tasks, practical investigations and analytical assignments, as well as observations and presentations
There will be end exams for some of the modules
When applying for UCAS you will need the following codes for your application: UCAS code H600 and MidKent College's Institution code M87
Successful completion could lead to employment as an engineering technician, project/design engineer, or in systems commissioning/applications. You may also progress to a full degree course.
You will need one of the following: 80 UCAS points (under the new tariff) from A-levels (including maths)
Level 3 Diploma/National Certificate (to MM level)
Level 3 Extended Diploma/ National Diploma (to MMM level)
Mature entry will also be considered. Admissions test for Maths and English.
