This is a top-up course for students who have previously completed the HNC in Electronic Engineering course.
The Foundation Degree in Electronic Engineering is a unique course designed to meet the demands of the 21st century and address the shortfall of trained engineers.
Graduates will be in a position to make a valuable contribution to the industry upon successful completion of the programme, having developed the analytical, research and design skills essential in today?s marketplace.
You will study a total of eight modules:

  • Further Analytical Methods for Engineers
  • Further Electronic Principles
  • Control Systems and Automation
  • Operational Amplifiers
  • Industrial Applications 1 (WBL)
  • Industrial Applications 2 (WBL)
  • Digital and Analogue Devices and Circuits
  • Microprocessor Interfacing and Control.

    Other Important Info

  • Typical lessons will involve research-based activities, individual and group projects, practical applications and seminar presentations
  • Assessment is through a combination of research and design tasks, practical investigations and analytical assignments, as well as observations and presentations
  • There will be end exams for some of the modules
  • This programme is validated by the University of Greenwich.

    Future Prospects

    Successful completion could lead to employment as an engineering technician, project/design engineer, or in systems commissioning/applications. You may also progress to a full degree course.

    You will need to hold a HNC in Electronic Engineering.
