The Details

This qualification is for those looking to enter the electrical industry, or to gain a qualification to progress your current career.

You will study the following units:

  • Structure of the construction industry
  • Fundamental safe working practices
  • Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
  • Site preparation for working in the construction industry
  • Electrical installation wiring and terminations
  • Fabrication techniques for electrical installation
  • Electrical science and technology.

    You'll develop your skills in our well equipped workshops, and be guided on your next step after your programme by our industry experienced tutors. Students have taken part in competitions too, as well as working on-site in different community projects.

    Our association with JTL (the national training organisation for the industry) will improve your prospects of employment after you've completed your programme.

    Other Important Info

  • You will need to purchase College uniform which is available at a discounted price through our uniform partners. You will also need to purchase protective boots, a scientific calculator, 18th Edition On Site Guide, a notebook (to take notes) and basic stationery
  • This qualification is all internally assessed through written and practical work.

    Future Prospects

    Many of our students have progressed into the industry, or become apprentices in local companies. On successful completion of this programme, you have the opportunity to progress to the Level 2 qualification.

    Entry Requirements

    Four GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including English and maths.
