The Details

This Level 2 apprenticeship provides valuable workplace skills and experience, while you earn a wage. You will spend 4 days per week with your employer and one day or two evenings per week at college to learn the theoretical elements of the role.

You will complete a number of qualifications including the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting. This programme covers a range of topics such as bookkeeping and costing etc. We will also work with you to develop your maths and English skills.



Other Important Info

- The apprenticeship standard of qualifications includes knowledge of accounts/finance, together with: English, maths, ICT and employment rights and responsibilities
- You will complete AAT examinations, a synoptic assessment and an end point assessment.

Future Prospects

On completion, the apprentice will be able to apply for the appropriate level of professional membership aligned with this apprenticeship, dependent on the qualification chosen.

After this apprenticeship you could progress to the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship at Level 3.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Employment within the sector with a contract of employment for at least 30 hours per week
  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at minimum grade D or 3 and above (Candidates who completed study overseas and are now working in the UK may also be eligible. Please contact us to discuss your application).
  • Satisfactory completion of the college initial assessment
