The Details
T Levels are brand new qualifications, and we're proud to be included in the second phase of launch with programmes starting in September 2021. As a highly-prized alternative to A Levels, these programmes provide a perfect route to skilled careers, apprenticeships or university-level courses.
This T Level is a two-year programme and is equivalent to 3 A Levels. It was been designed in partnership with key businesses in the scientific sector to ensure that you will gain the skills and knowledge that meets the needs of the industry and prepares you for work, further training, or higher-level study.
You will learn core scientific theories, concepts and skills alongside specialist skills to prepare you for a career in science. Your learning in the classroom and in our industry-standard laboratories will be supported by a significant industry placement where you will put your knowledge and skills into practice in a real working environment with a local business.
You will be assessed through examinations for core elements, and through internal assessment for specialist units.
Other Important Info
Equipment will be provided, but students will need to purchase the Science department uniform through our approved suppliers. Further details will be provided during interview and enrolment.
Future Prospects
You can progress into paid employment within the scientific industry or progress to higher-level study.
MidKent College has a partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University, offering you a progression route to a range of undergraduate progammes in scientific fields.
Entry Requirements
Applicants will need to hold five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English, maths and Science.
