MidKent College is celebrating victory in the South East heat of a national competition for the fourth year running.
The College entered two Higher Education teams into the CIOB (Charted Institute of Building) Student Challenge, who faced each other in the final after knocking out six other teams from across the region.
The competition is designed to test students’ knowledge of the building industry, with additional rounds including sport and music.
MidKent College 1, consisting of Melanie Parish, Wendy Wise, James Piesse and Iain Briggs, won the final by 230 points to 205.
The members of MKC2 were Katie Sellick, Paul Milgate, Gemma Daoudi-Davis and Luke Emmerton.
Iain Briggs also picked up the Student of the Day award for the second year running.
Sue Graham – programme area leader for Building & Civil Engineering – said: “Congratulations to both teams for an excellent performance, which resulted in the highest total score in the history of the South East Challenge.”
MKC1 battled it out against 11 other teams in the national final on Thursday (15 March) but did not finish in the top three.
