At MidKent College in Kent, our Hospitality & Catering courses boast a range of specialist facilities that form a real working environment.

     

Students gain valuable, realistic experience while they learn against the dynamic backdrop of our restaurants – The Pavilion Restaurant at our Medway Campus and The Apprentice Restaurant at our Maidstone Campus. 

Open for business lunches or high-end evening fine dining, these busy, top-quality eateries provide the perfect setting for developing your skills as a chef or waiter. 



Our professional cookery courses are intended for those students who wish to become chefs within the hotel and catering industry, while our Foundation Learning courses cover basic cooking and customer service skills.


Full-time courses include:


    Foundation Learning BTEC Diploma in Vocational Studies
> Hospitality & Catering Pathway (Entry Level)

    Foundation Learning City & Guilds Diploma
> Introduction to Professional Cookery (Level 1)

    Diploma in Professional Cookery
(Level 2)

    Diploma in Advanced Professional Cookery
(Level 3)



Part-time and evening courses include:


    Level 2 Award – Food Safety in Catering

    BIIAB Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders

    City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Barister Skills (7102)

All Foundation Learning courses aim to enable students to progress to a full Level 2 qualification.

Those who successfully complete our Level 2 or Level 3 training in Professional Cookery will gain excellent job prospects within the hotel and catering industries/and or may progress to higher education.
