Electrical Installation


At MidKent College we have comprehensive electrical installation facilities and modern workshops at our campuses in both Medway and Maidstone.

     

Choose to study electrical installation with MidKent College in Kent and, combined with quality teaching, these facilities will enable our expert staff to effectively deliver the training you need to make a success of your career within the industry – whether you intend to join or are already working within it.

If you are not already working within the industry, new qualification structures, coupled with our association with Joint Training Ltd (the national training organisation for apprenticeships in the industry), will improve your prospects of gaining employment whilst on the course.

These courses are for those intending to enter the electrical installation contracting (or related) industry.

You can study for the Electrical Installation Achievement Measurement AM2 test at our Maidstone Campus in Kent.



You will learn electrical installation work from basic lighting power circuits to industry standard installation exercises.

Other elements of our Electrical Installation courses include:

  • Electrical Science

  • Health & Safety
  • Wiring Regulations (at their appropriate levels).

    Foundation Learning Certificate

    Electrical Installation Achievement Measurement AM2

      Electrotechnical Systems & Equipment (Level 3)

    City & Guilds 2330 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology
      (Completion Courses)

    City & Guilds 2399 in Environmental Technologies (Level 3)

Once successfully completed, our full-time courses will lead to grading as an electrician.

Following a full-time course, further progression to approved electrician status will require industry experience and successful completion of the specialist City & Guilds 2391 - 10 Electrical Inspections and Testing qualification and the 17th Edition course. 
 
Successful completion of the full-time Level 2 Diploma may also lead to:
  • The City & Guilds Level 3 qualification (industry standard)
  • The NVQ Level 3 qualification for those who gain employment covering the relevant range of work.
