You will gain the understanding, skills and knowledge needed for entry into employment in the computing industry or progression to further studies.

Depending on the level of course you complete, you may also be able to develop your existing interests, at the same time as being introduced to new areas such as software, graphics and website development.

    Foundation Learning BTEC Diploma in Vocational Studies
> IT Pathway (Entry Level)

    Foundation Learning BTEC Diploma for IT Users (ITQ)
(Level 1)

    BTEC Diploma in Information Technology (Level 2)

    BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (Level 3)

All Foundation Learning courses aim to enable students to progress to a full Level 2 qualification.

The BTEC Diploma in Information Technology is equivalent to four GCSEs at grades A* - C and will enable you to progress to the Extended Diploma or an NVQ in IT. It will also provide a stepping stone to employment in positions such as IT technical sales specialist, DTP operator or computer service technician.

The BTEC Extended Diploma for ICT Practitioners is equivalent to three A-levels and will give you access to higher education in an IT-related subject. Alternatively, you can seek employment in the IT industry, or in administration or commerce.
