How do I apply?

When do I apply?

Places on some courses are limited, so you are advised to send in your application as soon as possible. You can, however, apply for a place at any time up to the start of your chosen course* (courses usually start in September).

*UCAS deadlines apply for a number of our Higher Education courses. Remember, places are limited, so apply as soon as you can!

Who sees my application?

Admissions staff will process your application and will arrange an interview with either a specialist course tutor or a Careers Guidance Adviser (depending on your needs and previous qualifications).

What happens next?

You will usually have an interview with the tutor for your chosen course. You may be asked to bring examples of your work to the interview. Depending on the course you are applying for, you may also be asked to take a test as part of the interview process.

How do I know if I’ve been accepted?

If you do well in your interview you will usually be offered a place on one of our courses. This offer may be unconditional (if you already have the right qualifications and experience), or it may be conditional (and will depend on the results of any examinations you are due to take). The offer will be confirmed in writing. Please note, only at this stage will a place be reserved for you.

How do I accept the offer of a place?

Once your place has been reserved, we will send you further details, such as reading lists and any uniform requirements. You will also be told when and where you should enrol. As a guideline, this is normally late August (for Further Education courses).

In September, you will follow an induction programme. This is usually when you will find out about College facilities, meet staff and other students and be given details of your programme of study.

How do I pay for my course?

Full-time further education courses are free up to the age of 19. If you are 19 or over on August 31, 2012, you may still be entitled to help with your fees (for full-time courses starting in September 2012). However, this will depend on the course and your individual circumstances.
