The Lower Lines Park next to MidKent College’s Medway Campus has been identified as a haven for bees and other wildlife, which led to the visit by Skinner Street youngsters during their ecology week.

Students from the College’s Animal Management department also mucked in by helping the children plant their trees.

Lecturer Jo Finch said: “This was a great opportunity for the Skinner Street pupils to enhance the environment and breed even more wildlife in an area already densely populated by bees.

“They did a great job and we look forward to monitoring the results over the weeks and months to come.”
