Representatives of colleges from across the South East attended a series of seminars at the Medway Campus on Tuesday (23 January).
The event was organised by VTCT – the specialist awarding body for the hairdressing and beauty sector – alongside the sector skills council Habia (Hair and Beauty Industry Authority).
Held inside MidKent College’s state-of-the-art performance and lecture theatre, the seminars covered a variety of beauty techniques using both male and female models.
Beverley Noble – head of faculty for Services to People – said: “When VTCT saw the facilities we had to offer they were delighted to hold the event here.
“It was an inspirational day and everyone in attendance was really keen and enthusiastic about the techniques being demonstrated.
“The event also provided a great opportunity to network with other colleges and to discuss ongoing issues in the Further Education sector.”
MidKent College runs a number of hair and beauty courses from its Medway and Maidstone Campuses, as well as a number of part-time courses in areas including nail technology and head massages.
