The landmark project – due for completion in December 2013 – will bring the site up to the similar high standard of the new Medway Campus in Gillingham.
The wider scheme will also include the refurbishment of the University for the Creative Arts’ Maidstone campus, which was purchased by the College last year and is also part of the Oakwood Park complex.
Director of finance Ian Rule said: “Denne has a fantastic record of delivering quality results and we were impressed by their drive and passion for this exciting project.
“They really understand the College’s vision and values, and will be a valuable partner for us.
“Using the financial strength that comes from being one of the largest colleges in the South East, we can provide the scale of funds necessary to provide our students with the state-of-the-art facilities they deserve.
“We’re delighted to have reached this important milestone in the redevelopment process and look forward to witnessing the many impressive changes to come.”
Operating throughout London and the South East since 1803, Denne – which has its head office in Borden, near Sittingbourne – is part of the Leadbitter Group.
Managing director Graham Brown said: “We are delighted to be appointed as the main contractor for the development of MidKent College’s Maidstone Campus.
“We look forward to working in partnership with the College to create outstanding new facilities, which will benefit the students for many years to come.”
