Primary school children fired up their Bunsen burners for a day of scientific discovery at MidKent College.

Burnt Oak Primary School pupils enjoyed the science day



Youngsters from Skinner Street, Brompton Westbrook and Burnt Oak schools carried out a number of fascinating experiments during their visit to the Medway Campus.

These included mock crime scene investigations and the launching of rockets using water and Alka-Seltzer, all under the supervision of Applied Science students from the College.

“The aim of the day was to pique the children’s interest in science and help them realise it’s a really fun subject,” said programme area leader Eleanor Wood.

“They really enjoyed themselves and many said they wanted to study here when they are older, which is obviously good news for us.”
