Sponsored by the local branch of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) and plumbing supply firm Bansal, the dinner at the Medway Campus was also attended by representatives from Canterbury College, North West Kent College and K College.
Each college nominated a best student and most improved student to win awards at the ceremony, with power drills worth £200 handed out as prizes.
Paul Hopper, 23, from Swanscombe, and Ashleigh Kerr, 17, from Coxheath, won the best student awards for MidKent College’s Medway and Maidstone campuses respectively.
Lee Taylor, 19, from Chatham, was named the Medway Campus’ most improved, while the same accolade for the Maidstone Campus was shared by William Louth, 18, from Gillingham, and Jordan Simmons, 17, from Paddock Wood.
Stuart Nice – head of faculty for Construction & Building Services – said: “It was an enjoyable evening and fantastic to celebrate the achievements of plumbing students from all over Kent.
“The future of the plumbing and heating industry is in good hands judging by the quality of work produced by these talented students.”
