Appeal following Thamesteel job losses

Nine apprentices and 11 Higher National Certificate students have lost vital roles at the company, which went into administration yesterday (Wednesday, 26 January).

MidKent College is now asking any local engineering firms willing to support the students through to the end of their qualifications to come forward.

Business development manager Jacqui Brown said: “The apprentices are all studying advanced level engineering and are three-quarters of the way through the programme.

“They are all very highly skilled and committed workers, and will be an asset to any company.”
