Discretionary Learner Support fund
A student who is 19 and over can apply to the discretionary Learner Support fund to help with associated costs whilst studying at college. Income calculations will be based on the income the student (or where applicable the student and their partner) receives.
The Discretionary Learner Support fund is limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
What can the Discretionary Learner Support fund help with?
Travel
You may be eligible for help with transport if you live more than 2 miles from the campus you attend, fulfil the criteria and are using public transport.

Materials
The Discretionary Learner Support fund can help with essential kit, equipment, uniform, trips and books for your course. Where possible payment will be made directly to the supplier and the student will receive goods rather than funds.

Childcare
The College may also be able to help with the cost of childcare if you are aged 20 or over at the start of your course.
