Music

The music facilities at MidKent College's Medway Campus in Kent include a state-of-the-art sequencing lab and digital and analogue recording studios.

These courses will provide you with an opportunity to experience popular music performance and/or sound recording.

Depending on the level and type of course you complete, you may develop a range of performance-related skills, including those in harmony, arranging and composition. You will also develop a greater understanding of the music business.

Those on courses in music technology will cover components in music publishing, composing, midi sequencing and software, sound recording techniques, studio production, digital audio principles, acoustics, live sound, multimedia sound production and more.

    BTEC Diploma in Music
(Level 2)

    BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Technology (Level 3)

    BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Practice
(Level 3)


Part-time and evening courses include:

    Protools 101

    Introduction to Sequencing

    Intermediate Sequencing

    Advanced Sequencing

Successful completion of our Level 3 courses in music perfomance and production could lead to a degree in music at university, or, for the most diligent of students, the opportunity to become a professional musician or pursue a career in live and recorded sound (music, TV, radio, film and theatre).
