MidKent College is approved by the Learning & Skills Council (LSC) to offer both Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships programmes. If you are working with an employer and wish to gain a “Gold Standard” qualification, this is the programme for you.
These programmes are funded by the LSC and are primarily for young people aged between 16 and 18 (although funding is available for those aged over 19 and working in a priority occupation, as directed by LSC).
An Apprenticeship is a programme of training that takes you towards a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at Level 2 in a subject relevant to your industry or work sector.
The Advanced Apprenticeship takes young people to the next stage – NVQ Level 3 – preparing them to become the managers and technicians of tomorrow. Both these programmes combine a structure of specialist training and work experience – a Technical Certificate. This certificate provides the underpinning knowledge needed to obtain the NVQ and develop your Functional Skills.
Depending on the Apprenticeship you undertake, the programme on offer could include day release and/or workplace training and assessment. Whichever route is appropriate, you will be supported by our team of course tutors and workplace assessors, who will provide the right training to help you develop your skills and potential.
