The qualification is aimed at those wanting a career in spectator safety or crowd control at events. It provides an introduction to the skills, qualities and knowledge required of a steward or marshal.
Level 2 Award in Industry and Occupational Awareness Level 3 NVQ in Leisure Management
You will learn through case studies, work-based assessments, along with projects, performance observations. The main emphasis is on practical work experience.
At present there are no cost but should this change the candidates will be informed at interview.
The qualification consists of four mandatory assignment units: 1. How stewards prepare for spectator events 2. How stewards control the entry, exit and movement of spectators at events 3. How stewards monitor crowds and respond to potential crowd problems at spectator events 4. How to respond to injuries, illnesses and other emergencies in active leisure and learning
